10am - Virtual Storytime

Join us via Zoom for a special storytime! Recommended for ages 2-6, but everyone is welcome! Please register for this event. Those who register will be emailed the link to our Zoom meeting space. Registration is required.


2:30pm -Meet the Author: Charnaie Gordon

Charnaie Gordon, diversity expert and author of A Kids Book About Diversity and editor of Race Cars: A Children's Book About White Privilege, will present a talk for parents about diverse and inclusive books and ways to instill a lifelong love of reading. Registration is required.

Thursday, July 8

8-9pm - Drink & Draw with Brom

Tabletop game artist and novelist, Brom, will join the BookFestPA fun, Thursday night for an evening of complete geekery with a side of drinks. From Dungeons & Dragons’ Dark Sun, to Plucker, and his forthcoming Slewfoot: a tale of Bewitchery (9/2021), this is our chance to ask Brom just how he became so great. This event is recommended for attendees 18 years and up.

5-6pm - Setsucon Costume Contest Awards Ceremony

Join us for the live & virtual award ceremony!

Show off your creative flair in the second BookFestPA Virtual Costume Contest, sponsored by Setsucon. Let's celebrate our favorite fandoms by showing off costumes of the characters we love. Join us by entering into our Costume Contest using the form below for a chance to be crowned the 2021 Champion!

Awards will be available for the following categories:

  • Best Overall/Handmade

  • Most Accurate

  • Best Kids

  • Best Anime/Comic

  • Best TV/Movie/Book

Awards will be announced via Zoom!



7-8pm - A Conversation with J. Courtney Sullivan

New York Times bestselling author, J. Courtney Sullivan closes out BookFestPA with a virtual chat about motherhood in modern fiction, the pandemic, and her sources of inspiration. Sullivan is known for Commencement, Maine, The Engagements, and Saints For All Occasions. Maine was named a Best Book of the Year by Time magazine, and a Washington Post Notable Book for 2011. Her recent work, Friends and Strangers, is a Today Show “Read with Jenna” book club pick.
